Correct Push Ups
Importance of Correct form- Part 1 Correct Push Ups
When training. Performing the correct form and mechanics of a movement is critical for optimal results. When performing a push up, it is important to ensure hands are shoulder width and not too close to the body. If the hands are to close, you will be placing a lot of the work on your triceps. We want to incorporate as much of our chest, shoulders and triceps without placing stress on our joints. To do this, we must keep the hands shoulder width apart and arms approximately 90 degrees to maximise chest work, this will increase the calorie burning of the exercise as the larger muscle groups use more energy and thus burn more calories.
